Blackmoor Golf Club
The brainchild of the great Gary Player, Blackmoor is the only course on the Grande Strand designed by this dynamic player. Bordering the Waccamaw River, Blackmoor's 18 championship holes feature flowing lakes, moss-draped oaks, tall pines, cypress, pristine wetlands and marsh. The natural terrain gives way to a set of equally distinct 9 holes; rice fields abound on the back. Blackmoor's signature hole is the par 4 number 8. This risk reward hole can play a safe 370 yards via a right dog-leg or the riskier 270 yards over the rough and through a small grove of trees. With a clever layout from tree-lined fairways on the front nine to the wide-open fairways of the back nine, Blackmoor provides a fun round for all players.
Not an easy course, Blackmoor is a par 72, sloped at 126 with a course rating of 71.1. Measuring a short 6614 yards from the Championship tees and utilizing Tifeagle Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens, golfers find themselves playing a great course with a true Southern plantation feel.
