Indigo Creek
A Willard Byrd design, Indigo Creek Golf Club sits among the giant live oaks in the Lowcountry of Murrells Inlet. This wonderful course has a significant number of doglegs, marshes, lakes, creeks, waste bunkers and undulating greens with the water and sand coming into play on almost every hole. A relatively short course you do not need to hit the ball long but you do need to hit it straight as many of the holes have rather small landing areas. The front and back nines play totally different with the front being more difficult due to the narrower fairways that require a more precise shot and the back being the more scenic of the 2. The most memorable hole is probably the 12th, a par 4 with a 90 degree dogleg that crosses the same creek twice. From the tee the green is visible directly ahead of you but do not try to reach it with your driver, you won't make it!
