True Blue Plantation
Named as one of America's Top 100 Greatest Public Courses, True Blue definitely lives up to its reputation. Situated among the rolling terrain of a once thriving indigo and rice plantation, this innovative design boasts some of the areas widest tree-lined fairways, hand-shaped bunkers with plenty of sand, hidden greens and incredible elevation changes, including one tee box nearly 50 feet above the green. The first test of this spectacular course begins right away with the first hole, a par 5 measuring 624 yards, with the challenges only escalating from there. The utilization of native grasses and plantings accentuate the natural beauty of the landscape and help preserve the low country character of this unique and stunningly gorgeous course. True Blue is a "must play" for the discerning golfer.
A par 71 course, measuring 7062 yards from the Black tees, True Blue has G2 Bentgrass greens, with a slope of 145 and a course rating of 74.3 with an 18 acre practice facility. Be forewarned though, just because it is pretty does not mean it is just a walk in the park. It didn't get it's nickname "Caledonia on Steroids" for nothing.
